I have been canning and storing our own food for over 20 years now. I love to hear the ping of the jars! I love to see them lined up on our shelves....I love to pull something off the shelf last minute and have supper ready in 15 minutes and I know it will be good for my family! With out all of the preservatives and junk that goes into store bought.
With all of that said I really enjoy homemade Chicken soup. I'm going to show you how to jar up your very own Chicken soup.
Start by roasting your chicken in the oven for 2 hours in a 350 degree oven. Separate the chicken from the bone after it has cooled. Put your chicken in a large stock pot and separate the fat from the gravy by using a gravy separator or by placing your stock in the fridge and letting the fat harden and skimming it off the top. The gravy separator is way faster!!
Add your stock, onions, carrots, celery, potatoes and seasonings. Bring to a boil and ladel into your jars.
Make sure the rims of your jars are wiped clean before you put the lids on. Place your jars in a pressure canner for 90 minutes. And that's it! Just add the noodles when you heat it up!
